History: The techniques of repoussé date from Antiquity and have been used widely with gold and silver for fine detailed work and with copper, tin and bronze for larger sculptures.

"Repousse' has intrigued me for years.  My early training was in Jewelry where we worked with silver and brass.  Copper is a beautiful metal that lends itself well to the repousse' technique, and is relatively inexpensive compared to silver. As an architectural detail repousse' is, I think, one of the most beautiful of all metalwork. It has a richness and quality unlike any other metal technique. Some of the most common applications being door cladding, fireplace hoods and panels.  Of course it can be done simply as a wall sculpture as well."
